If ever there was a film guaranteed to catch the imagination of young boys the world over, it was Pixar Animation Studio’s 2005 release, Cars. With Hot Wheels a unquestioned champion in the kids toy market for decades and a boy’s love for all things fast and furious, the success of both the animated film and it is licensed toy offspring was no surprise.

With Lego and Pixar signing a deal to concede the general building toys company to formulate sets based around ordinary Pixar characters and scenes, Cars was likewise a shoe-in for firstborn cab off the rank when it came to the inaugural wave of Pixar Lego sets in early 2010. Interestingly Mega Bloks, Lego’s main challenger in the toy building bricks market, had freed sets based on Cars a heap of years earlier but fans failed to respond with enthusiasm. With the recent restructuring at Pixar/Disney the animation company decisive to shift their attention to Lego and the new Cars Duplo sets are a result.

If you are unfamiliar with Duplo, it is like Lego but only larger and meant for littler hands. This may seem incongruous but the more spectacular pieces make assembling and disassembling structures easier, and that is the special factor of Lego. It allows children to not only invent a model using instructions but then likewise gives them choices to fabricate their own designs using those same Lego pieces. The frequent age recommendation for the juniorized Duplo Lego is two to six years of age.

Lego freed four Duplo Cars sets and each have at least one of the car characters from the film. The smallest set thankfully includes the most famous of these, Lightning McQueen. Called plainly Lightning McQueen, set 5813 holds 11 pieces and includes the titular car, a chequered flag, a cactus and respective bricks to invent a desert feature.

The next greatest set, at 16 pieces is Mater’s Yard, set 5814. Obviously this set features the world’s favourite Tow Truck but also Sherrif, an oil barrel and salvage yard sign as well as a few bricks for creating structures. Like all the characters in this Duplo Cars range, the designs are simple but without any delay recognisable and customisable. In this case Mater’s tow cable may be got rid of from the truck bed and used as a crane.

With 32 pieces, Flo’s V8 Cafe is the next greatest set and doesn’t genuinely incorporate Flo but Sally, Lightning McQueen (with special white walled wheels) and Doc Hudson. The rest of the set comprises of a fuel pump, Flo’s cafe sign and blocks for frequent construction. The final set includes 34 pieces but is rather a bit larger, having Mack the, Sheriff and Lightning with road signs and a cactus.

All the sets will be loved by young fans and the terrifi thing when it comes to Duplo is that kids may use generic blocks they already have from other sets to construct just in regards to anything their imagination may think of. Although the price point may be more or less higher than other toys, this long term skillfulness needs to be factored into any parent’s buy consideration. Ka Chow indeed!

5LOVE IT!!!!
By Angela Schwartz
I LOVE THIS SEAT!!! my little boy is 2 and is37 inches tall and 36 lbs and many potty seats were too small and uncomfortable for him. This one is cushy, big, but not too big and has a high enough splash guard to thwart the squirts!!Highly recommended!

5My son loves this seat!
By Sarah Rodenbaugh
I got this seat because of the height of the shield for my son. The other potty seats I found had such a flat shield that it may as well not have been there. This one works perfectly! It fits the toilet well and doesn’t slide around (even when he turns half sideways so he can flush) and easily stores behind the toilet against the wall when we aren’t using it. I would recommend it to anyone that is potty training a boy!

5Great
By Mommy & Nurse
We just bought this potty seat for our 17 month old who is starting to show interest in the “big potty”. He fits on it great, and enjoys the “handles”. We have found the shield on the front useful, but it does detach as well. The seat has small foam pieces on the bottom that give it a “non skid” surface against your toilet seat. It is easy to remove when not in use.
