Ouch! Few things are more uncomfortable than baby’s diaper rash. Almost all babies have at least one case of rash for the duration of their diapering years. Using a natural remedy may be best for baby’s delicate diaper area. Here are a few tips:

Let baby air out

Taking off the diaper and permitting baby to lie naked on a towel or blanket as often as possible may clear up rash. Or pin on a cloth diaper loosely so air may circulate.

Clean baby with water and cloth wipes

Commercial baby wipes integrate chemicals and perfumes that may irritate baby’s skin, predisposing him to rash or making an existent one worse. Cleaning baby with water and cloth wipes (or using a mild natural soapy solution for messy changes) is preferable.

Use natural detergents for diaper laundry

Residues left in mercantile detergents may be harsh, drying baby’s skin. Switch to a natural detergent and do a double rinse.

Change baby frequently

For a time, go on hyper alert and modify baby’s diaper speedily each time it gets soiled. Urine and fecal matter may burn baby’s skin and cause painful rash. This is specially unfeigned as baby begins eating solid foods. Breastfed babies in general have less sequences of rash. If you’re bottlefeeding and baby’s rash is persistent, talk to your Pediatrician with regards to altering the formula.

Try a diaper change

In addition to altering baby frequently, try using a dissimilar kind of diaper altogether. Some babies who experienced chronic rash with disposables will do much better with cloth diapers. Or at least switch to perfume free, natural disposables like the ones made by Seventh Generation, Tushies, MotherNature or Nature Boy & Girl.

Treat thrush (yeast infection)

Thrush is a mutual cause of diaper rash. Following the above tips will help, but if it persists, talk to your Pediatrician. S/he may commend an antifungal medication safe for baby. You may likewise undertake Gentian Violet, available at a good deal of drugstores. Ask your Doctor for recommendations. A baking soda wash (one Tablespoon dissolved in a half cup of water) may aid also. Pat it on baby’s bum with cotton balls after each change.

Acidophilus is safe for babies and may support combat yeast, particularly a rash that may appear after baby has taken antibiotics. Ask a health care provider to commend a brand and dose.

Use a bottom balm

Try a diaper rash cream made from natural ingredients to help form a barrier, keeping waste away from baby’s skin. Look for calendula, Vitamin E and evening primrose oil in the list of ingredients. Burt’s Bees and Weleda are splendid brands.

Talk to your Doctor

Persistent rash (especially if it’s a “bulls eye” around the baby’s bottom) may be a symptom of feed allergy. Your Doctor may commend an elimination diet to support you find the culprit. Often babies outgrow their sensitivities at around age 3 and you might be competent to reintroduce the feed then.

5Highly recommended – especially for people with Chemical Sensitivities
By Grass Tiger
This soap is fantastic. I use if for everything. I am severely chemically sensitive and almost all the soaps, all the detergents and such on the market make me extremely ill. This is the only thing I can use. I use it for cleaning the toilet, counters, floors, as a body soap and sometimes as a shampoo (but it is a little drying). I am unable to tolerate the ones that have essential oils added (the scented ones), but this unscented (baby, mild) one is perfect. In the shower it lathers up very nicely. I buy it in this size bottle because the big gallon ones are hard to find in the unscented and hard to handle and the smaller ones are more expensive for me. My family (of three) goes through one bottle per month. Since this is very concentrated only a little tiny bit goes a very long way.

5Trial and error resulted in HUGE success….
By Swansong
The shampoo itchies drove into the arms of Dr. Bronner. The first time I used Dr. Bronner’s Baby Castile Soap on my hair, I had that sinking feeling in my stomach upon rinsing…my hair felt soooo sticky. No time to start all over, so I just slathered on some creme rinse. Words can not convey my surprise when I rinsed the ‘rinse’ and then stood in front of the mirror. Even wet, my hair has life and body in it; then when it dries, the results are soft, managable, and oh the curls. Nothing to date has even given me these results. As for toothpaste, well…50 years of commercial toothpaste has warped my perceptions but I am willing to learn (slowly). By the way, you should see what this stuff can do when applied to household cleaning (windows not included), it makes my hardwood floors shine.

5great soap
By marissa
I bought this soap because I was looking for a shampoo without harmful lathering agents. My hair has been super tangly all my life. I used TONS of conditioners on it and still, within an half-hour after brushing it would be a tangly mop. I recently tried a commercial no-lather shampoo and loved it, but it cost WAY too much, and I went through one bottle in less than a month. I found a recipe on-line for a homemade shampoo using castile soap, so i bought this and it works wonderfully as long as you use an apple cider vinegar conditioning rinse afterward. I did not know about the rinse at first, and I admit the shampoo made my hair thick and waxy feeling, but once I used the rinse….,FANTASTIC. My hair is so smooth and shiny, I blow it dry after showering, and I hardly have to brush it at all. My hair reaches my shoulder blades, and has always been unruly so this is amazing. I have also been using it as a face, body and hand soap. plus it is great for cleaning carpet and leather.

However this is just a vegetable oil based soap, not some kind of magic potion, so don’t expect miracles.

recipe: 1 part castile soap, 1 part water, 1 teaspoon oil. ( I used olive oil, but you can use grapeseed, coconut, jojoba etc.) add essential oils to make it smell good.
be sure to use an apple cider vinegar rinse afterwards.
